When most people hear the words "Spread Option" one thing that rarely comes to mind is the Run Game. In this football DVD, Anthony Pratley demonstrates how to run the triple option run game out of the Spread Option by using the Pistol formation to create an effective rushing attack.
The innovator of the Pistol Spread Option Offense, Coach Pratley, draws up the zone, veer, option, midline and trap against many different fronts. Then takes it a step further--he teaches you how to run the triple option on the backside of these basic plays, showing how the blocking and reads stay the same no matter what the defense gives you. He also shows a unique way to teach and recognize what kind of option needs to be run against certain defenses.
All of these plays out of the pistol spread formation, if run correctly, will be very difficult for any defense to defend.
The basic rules and blocking assignments make it quick and easy to teach yet highly effective on any given play. Pratley also takes you through game film after every chalk board session to really bring home the concept.
Having a traditional option on the backside of play is like expanding your playbook three-fold, but only teaching a few basic plays.

Anthony Pratley delivers the new look Pistol Spread Option with a Triple Threat Run Game. This video includes the different phases of the running game including Zone Read, Jet and the Power game in the Pistol Spread Option. He also demonstrates how to use formations like the empty set and Wildcat to give the defense a variety of looks.
Pratley walks you through the basics of the Triple Threat Run Game and dissects it into the pieces you need to implement it. He breaks down the zone blocking rules for the offensive line with easy-to-remember terms to block any defensive front. He breaks down the three types of steps lineman need to know to execute these plays, and he teaches "help calls" to modify blocking techniques through the course of a game.
Pratley provides "tag" words to make every base play into a triple option. Pratley then discusses different ways to run the play by simply changing your read player.
Once the zone read triple option is covered, Pratley goes over his power blocking scheme, which has very similar rules making it easy for the offensive line to remember. And of course, all of the power plays have a triple option element built into them by using the same tag words as before. So you're really only teaching two plays, with two ways to block, yet with all the tag words and lineman calls it changes your two plays into 15+ powerful running plays.
Pratley uses an animated PowerPoint, diagrams and game footage to clearly teach each step in implementing a successful triple option run game into any offensive system.
Defenses will have to spend time and energy preparing for what looks like an extremely diverse offense, while for your players will find it simple to understand and execute. This system can get the ball into your playmakers hands in many different ways!

Coach Pratley goes into great detail on the ins and outs of his high powered pistol offense. Using easy to remember tag phrases and simple blocking solutions for blitzing defenses, Pratley dissects the passing game into three essential pieces: the short passing game, play-action passes, and the deep passing game giving you a unique, explosive way to get the ball down the field for the big play.
He breaks down the route combinations and illustrates how to get the defense into a look that you want using simple motions and shifts. Coach Pratley details everything from the QB footwork and reads to the route concepts and what each concept is designed to attack.
The video teaches quarterbacks the correct reading progression and defensive keys and alignments to make simple, highly effective throws. Pratley provides keys on how and when the play action game is most effective and how to stretch the field and have a "home run" play on every passing snap.
What makes this video unique is that it is a multiple passing attack simplified for all levels of competition. Not only does Coach Pratley illustrate his passing attack, but he also gives the read progression and blocking assignments for the offensive line and running backs to take advantage of the defenses weak points.
He uses an animated PowerPoint, diagrams and game footage to drive home each step in implementing a successful passing game into any offensive system.
This video is a must have for any passing offense that wants to have multiple options to effectively complement the pistol offense.
